I'm an ex-Otago girl who's grandma used to make Norwegian trifle (...why is it called Norwegian trifle?) Wanted to make it for dessert on Saturday night - I now live in England and couldn't phone my mum for the recipe as she would have been asleep. Googled it and there it was! Your recipe is a tiny bit different - no fruit my Grans so dissolve the gelatine in a small cup of hot water instead. We always had it with tinned peaches though and runny cream poured over.
